British fashion designer Jo Buckler studied Pleated and Fashion Textiles for her Masters Degree in 1992 at Manchester, UK, where she went on to produce unusual origami fabrics for the woman's fashion designer Koji Tatsuno's Paris runway collections.
|
 | Known for her unique pleated sculptural designs, Jo was inspired by origami folding and the 1920s designer Fortuny with his sensuous Delphos dresses.
During the last few years much of Jo's inspiration has developed from her introduction to the underwater world with sea life and fauna influencing much of her design work through organic shapes, spirals and curves. | |
Jo develops a captivating range of unique and internationally recognised textual fabrics using permanent and unique pleating techniques through sumptuous chiffons, organzas, and satins in a variety of rich and delicate colours. Jo uniquely pleats, twists, and trims the fabric to create striking three-dimensional sculptural scarves, wraps, tops and skirts.
Established in London, Jo supplies private clients and exclusive fashion outlets in Europe and across the USA. As well as selling direct and online, Jo sells her scarves, wraps and garments at prestigious European fairs such as the Chelsea Crafts Fair in London and also shows during New York Fashion Week attracting interest and orders from exclusive fashion boutiques - East to West Coast.
